Emergency Medical Assistance, Evacuation and Repatriation
If the Insured Person suffers an Accident and/or Illness (including being diagnosed with COVID-19 illness) while overseas, and which in the opinion of UOI’s appointed service provider, it is necessary to evacuate the Insured Person to the nearest registered medical institution for necessary medical treatment, UOI will pay for the reasonable cost of transportation and en route medical care and supplies necessarily incurred.

Important Notes and Disclaimers:

1. Please provide all required details to activate your Complimentary Travel Insurance, for UOB Cards (“Complimentary Travel Insurance”) at least 5 working days before your trip. You will receive an email confirmation within 3 working days of the application date, which contains a unique reference number for each trip you submit.

2 This Complimentary Travel Insurance is only applicable for your trip when you have charged the entire fare of your air ticket to your eligible UOB Card and have fully and accurately provided the information requested for in the form.

3. This Complimentary Travel Insurance is underwritten by United Overseas Insurance Ltd (“UOI”). By applying for this Complimentary Travel Insurance, you agree that (i) we may disclose your information to UOI in connection therewith (including but not limited to your application and processing of claims (if any) relating to this Complimentary Travel Insurance) and (ii) United Overseas Bank Ltd (“UOB”) and/or UOI may use the contact information provided herein to contact you regarding this Complimentary Travel Insurance via an appropriate channel (including by email, telephone or SMS) as UOB and/or UOI may determine at its sole discretion.

4. For claim-related matters, please contact UOI directly at 6222 7733 during its business hours. 

5. Your eligible UOB Card has to be in good standing order for you to be covered by this Complimentary Travel Insurance for the whole duration of your trip and at the point of any claim thereafter.

6. You are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the information provided at the point of submission of your claim. UOI has the right to review and assess your claim before deciding on whether to process your claim, and the processing of your claim shall be at UOI’s sole discretion. UOI's decision on all matters relating to claims for the Complimentary Travel Insurance shall be final and binding on the claimants.

 (i) I hereby declare that the above information, statements and particulars are true, accurate, complete and correct in all respects and that no facts have been suppressed or mis-stated. I agree that this proposal shall form the basis of the contract between me and UOI.


 (ii) I am aware that I can seek advice from a qualified advisor before making a commitment to purchase or activate this product. In the event that I choose not to seek advice from a qualified advisor, I take sole responsibility to ensure that this product is appropriate to my financial needs and insurance objectives.


 (iii) I acknowledge and agree that:


a)      I have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the full terms, conditions and exclusions of the Complimentary Travel Insurance available here and consent to the activation of this policy on the terms stated in this application;


b)      the activation of this policy remains subject to approval by UOB and UOI; and UOB or UOI may reject or decline this application without giving any reason or notice whatsoever;


c)      any claim under the policy will have to be lodged directly with UOI and will be subject to UOI’s assessment based on the policy terms. The successful activation of this policy pursuant to this application does not constitute a guarantee or assurance by UOI that any subsequent claims under the policy will be successful;


d)     the risk of misunderstandings, errors, unauthorised instructions, fraud, forgery, and the risk of operational, equipment, and network delays, failures, faults or errors howsoever occurring in the course of the transmission of documents and instructions are entirely mine, and UOB will not be responsible or liable to me for any loss, liability or expense that may result from any of the foregoing;


e)     UOB is authorised (without being obliged) to record any telephone conversation made or purportedly made with me whether with or without the use of a tone warning device and the Bank may use such recordings and/or transcripts as evidence in any dispute; and


f)     UOB shall not be obliged to maintain such recordings and transcripts or keep or make available to me any such copies thereof.


 (iv) Without prejudice and in addition to any other consent or authorisation which I may have provided to UOB in respect of the collection, use and/or disclosure of my personal data, I hereby consent to UOB’s collection, use and disclosure of all information and particulars (including personal data) contained in this application to UOI for the purposes of activating the Complimentary Travel Insurance and processing and/or administering claims relating to the Complimentary Travel Insurance.
