Dear Customer,

As part of our continual efforts to serve all our customers better, we are centralising the opening of accounts that require special handling at specific branch locations. By making prior appointments, customers can be assured of a more seamless and efficient service experience.

We will need customers to take note of the requirements for account types as specified below.

For Estate Accounts (Refer to https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/save/estate-account.page)

  1. Original/Digital Death Certificate
  2. Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration
  3. Original Identity Document(s) of all Executors/Administrators (NRIC – Singaporean/PR, Passport – Foreigner)
  4. For Foreigners, Proof of Residential Address (e.g. original utilities or telco bills).

Note: All Executors/Administrators will need to be present in person.

For Accounts of Mentally Incapacitated persons (Refer to https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/save/deputy-donee-account.page)

Opened with a Court Order issued pursuant to Part V of the Mental Capacity Act (Cap 177A) ("MCA"),

  1. Court Order issued pursuant to MCA
  2. Original Identity Documents of the account holder who lacks mental capacity and the Deputy(ies) (NRIC – Singaporean/PR, Passport – Foreigner)
  3. For Foreigners, Proof of Residential Address (e.g. original utilities or telco bills).

Opened with a Lasting Power of Attorney ("LPA"),

  1. Original Identity Document(s) of the Donor and all the Donee(s) (NRIC – Singaporean/PR, Passport – Foreigner)
  2. Original medical certificate report certifying the Donor’s mental incapacity and dated after the date of LPA registration
  3. Lasting Power of Attorney (either original hardcopy LPA, or certified true copy of the LPA, or softcopy LPA sent to the Bank through the OPG’s e-Services portal via Singpass during account opening)
  4. For Foreigners, Proof of Residential Address (e.g. original utilities or telco bills).

Note: All appointed Deputies/Donees will need to be present in person.

Upon submission of the appointment booking form, customers can expect to receive a confirmation call from us within 2 business days.
